I haven’t worn this skirt since last year, because the back seam had come unstitched just below the zip and the end of the zip kept popping through. Which took about five minutes to fix, when I finally got round to it at the weekend. Why do I always put off mending?
Shawl – Citron
Jacket – Debenhams
Top – M&S
Skirt – charity shop
Boots – Duo

You’re not the only one to put off mending! I’ve got a pair of mitts here that really should be darned, because it’s cold and I don’t have another pair.
You look very nice in that skirt. I hope you wear it more often. MelindaJ.
Thanks, Melinda! I do really like the skirt, so I don’t know why it took me so long to get round to fixing it.
The skirt looks very svelte and warm too – a bonus in this weather. Know what you mean about mending. I have things that have lingered in mending limbo for years.
It’s ridiculous, really, most mending jobs take a few minutes, half an hour at most!
Perhaps I should have said ‘turning up’ limbo, as, being short, I’m constantly buying things which are too long. I do sometimes wonder what it must be like to buy things that are automatically the right length, and for trousers, don’t drag along the ground.
That’s one of the reasons I don’t buy trousers!
Mending always seems like such a faff, doesn’t it? And it’s not really. Took me days to get round to mending some gloves recently. Hoorah for a mended skirt!
It really isn’t, I should remember this in future!
